Mortgage protection insurance (MPI) is a type of credit life insurance that pays off the mortgage loan in the event of the borrower's death, disability or job loss. It is not a requirement for obtaining a mortgage, and the premiums vary depending on the borrower's age and the amount of coverage needed.
It is important to note that PMI (private mortgage insurance) is different from MPI, as PMI only protects the lender if the borrower defaults on their mortgage payments and does not provide any protection for the borrower.
Final expense life insurance is a type of whole life insurance that provides a smaller death benefit to cover funeral expenses and other final costs. These policies typically don't require a medical exam and are easier to qualify for than most life insurance policies. Some final expense policies may have a partial waiting period before the full death benefit is paid out, but they can still provide partial coverage during that period.
Indexed Universal Life Insurance (IUL) is a type of permanent life insurance that combines a death benefit with an investment component, allowing policyholders to allocate cash value amounts to either a fixed account or an equity index account. IUL policies offer a variety of investment options and the cash value has the potential to earn higher interest rates than traditional whole life policies, but they also come with more risk and fee. With IUL you gain with the market and your investment is secure in the event the market is down. (All gain no loss)
